Interior Shutters – Western Red Cedar

Custom made Western Red Cedar interior shutters by Newport are an Australian made product, utilizing first grade air-dried Western Red Cedar sourced from North America. This timber is renowned for structural stability and therefore allows for a broader manufacturing specification – for example panels can be made wider or taller than usual, without requiring a midrail. It is very lightweight with excellent thermal and acoustic properties.

Tiltrods

Traditionally mounted in the centre of the panel – side mount, or concealed tiltbars are also popular choices – allowing easier cleaning and a less interupted view. Tiltrods are manufactured from select hardwood and secured to the shutter blades by stainless steel staples. This system was developed for commercial applications and is now available on every Newport shutter.
